| surprise!!! |
saturday, feb 11, 2006, the surprise birthday party for hubby and baby boy. =) as in clueless pa din si hubby, at syempre, mas clueless si baby boy, hehe.
after lunch, hubby, baby and i went to sta. lucia para magpalipas oras. we needed to leave the house kasi maaga aalis sila mama, with my 'on-the-day-coordinator' (naks!) jing to mcdo. the party was set at 530pm, but i told all the guests to be there by 5pm. they should all be there before we arrive kasi eh.
 
side kwento: unfortunately, nagloko ung digicam ko!!! so we brought it with us para ipa-check sana. initial plan ko kasi was iiwan ko kila mama ung digicam ko so they can take pics upon our entrance, to capture the 'surprise' look on hubby's face, hehe. eh kaso nga, dinala ko para ipa-check. pero pagdating sa sta.lucia, aba, umayos. so since jing will be getting the cake from goldilocks, i texted her na i'll meet her sandali to give her the digicam. so while we were shopping, pumuslit akong saglit kay hubby and ran the 2 escalators. i gave her the camera and finally saw the 'incredibles' cake, ang ganda!!!
and so, we spent the afternoon eating and shopping. ang gastos pala magpalipas oras, hay! last minute, i had to buy this shoes for baby boy para lang hindi pa kami umalis ng mall. owell, i've been wanting to buy this a long time na naman eh. cute noh?
nagyayaya na kasi si hubby at excited na uminom, hehe, madami pa daw syang kailangang gawin sa house nilang preparation kaya pumunta na daw kami dun. umiinit na nga ulo ko kasi while nagyayayang umuwe si hubby eh mega text naman kami ni jing. paano ba naman, ang labo ng mcdo, kainis! the party before us was supposed to be finished by 430. and we are set at 530. i even instructed them that everything should be ready by 5pm kasi nga dadating kami ng 530 and dapat all set na sila nun with the bday song. eh ang kaso, pagdating daw nila dun ng past 5pm, nagkakainan pa ung mga guests. sus! kaya medyo panic na din ako kasi i told hubby na we'll be leaving by 5pm. so mega text kami ni jing and told her to talk to the manager na and tell them that everything should be in order already coz we are about to leave na. kaya ayun, sa paghihintay namin ay napagastos pa. pero buti na lang hubby changed his mind on the nike shoes he's been eyeing. buti na lang kundi, baka maghugas pa ako ng mga kaldero sa mcdo, nyahaha!
and so finally, off we went to mcdo. sa sta. lucia pa lang, hiniritan ko na si hubby ng "kahapon ko pa gusto ng twister fries, kaya lang wala daw sila kahapon dun sa inorderan ko, kainis!". so when we were nearing mcdo, text na ako kay jing at sabay hirit kay hubby ng "mahal, daan muna tayong mcdo sandali, gutom na ako eh, bili lang ako ng twister fries".
so eto na, me parking space sa unahan, sabi ko kay hubby dun na mag-park. kaya lang, nag-double park lang sya, biglang hirit sa akin na ako na lang daw bumaba at bumili, tutal fries lang naman bibilhin ko eh. paktay!!! so sabi ko na hindi pwede, kumain na muna tayo sandali dun. muntik pa kami mag-away dahil dun, haha. anyway, so nakapag-park na kami. habang lumalakad kami sa harap ng mcdo, may tinuturo ako sa kanya sa kabilang side para di sya tumingin sa mcdo, hehe. ung party area kasi eh kitang-kita sa labas. kaya lang, no epek eh, buti na lang medyo malabo ang mata ng asawa ko kaya isang barkada lang nya ang nakita nyang nakaupo sa loob. sinenyasan pa nya ng "pre, maya, sa bahay ha". haha, akala daw nya eh kumakain lang talaga dun.
pagpasok namin, eto na! kumanta na ang host ng bday song at nakita na nya lahat ng bisita nya. kitang-kita sa mukha nya na surprised talaga sya. sayang kasi nag-hang ung digicam, nyahaha. at ang daddy ko naman, hindi rin na-capture ung moment sa isang camera nya kasi inaayos daw nila ung digicam, hay! pero pareho sila ni jing na nasa entrance nun ha. tipong "kitkat" moment ang dating! =)
   
upon hubby's realization of the surprise, he kissed me and said thank you! aaaw, that was all i needed. more than enough para mawala lahat ung pagod ko sa pag-prepare ng lahat ng ito. =)
ang asawa ko, sus, busyng-busy sa pag-asikaso sa mga barkada nya. parang ang tagal hindi nagkita-kita. talaga naman oo! =)
  
we had 4 games, 2 for adults and 2 for my 7 kids. tuwang-tuwa ang mga kids dahil ang daming prizes and loots, at lahat sila may prizes.
aliw din ang mga adults, kagulo ung mga barkada ni hubby lalo na sa games. naglolokohan nga sila na sabi daw ng mcdo, di na sila ulit tatanggap ng adult party sa susunod, haha.
  
pati ung sa blowing of the candle, tinawag ng host eh mga barkada nya at pinakanta, kaya ang kinanta eh "happy, happy birthday to you...sayo ang inuman..." riot talaga! =)
 
 
kainan time, nagkulang ang food kaya nagpa-additional pa ako. almost all kasi dumating, which i wasn't expecting. kaya talagang natuwa ako kasi pati ung mga barkada nila na di na masyado napagkikita eh napapunta ko. at meron pang mga galing manila. i'm so thankful talaga! =)
time for the mascot. pagkita ni baby boy kay Birdie, biglang umiyak! haha, natakot sa mascot, ang laki kasi-ng BIRD eh, mwehehe.
after the lootbag distribution was the farewell message. i just thanked them all for coming and invited them already for baby boy's 1st bday party naman after 2 months. then, diretso na kayo sa bahay at inuman na!!! =)
 
on our way to IL's house, sobrang thankful si hubby at ang saya-saya daw talaga. and i'm really happy because successful ung party. buti na lang talaga tinuloy ko. =)
pagdating sa bahay nila, aba, nauna pa ung mga barkada nya, mga sunog-baga talaga. =) ang dami pang pagkain sa house nila IL, kaya bumawi na ako dun dahil di ako masyadong nakakain sa mcdo. pero mas madaming beer, 4 cases!!! at simot un, take note! inabot pa sila ng 3am yata, hay, tinulugan ko na kasi.
how i wish i can join them sa inuman. kaya lang baka mauna pang ma-lashing si baby boy sa akin pag dede nya eh. tsaka baka masanay sa alak ang anak ko at 2yo pa lang eh mag-inuman na sila ng ama nya! but i really miss beer! MULE, where are you?! it's been almost 2 years! i really miss you! =)
hay, finally, it's over. and i'm really happy with the outcome. now i can concentrate back on my baby boy's 1st bday party. but for now,,,

| sikretong malupit! |
eto na po ung “secret” blog na sinasabi ko on my previous posts. can’t post it before because it’s a surprise party for hubby’s 30th birthday…
the thought of having a mcdo party started last january. i asked opinions from friends, some were ok on the idea and found it ‘kakaiba’ (kasi for adults eh) and fun. though some, mostly chatters and readers of this blog, opposed! hehe. =)
owel, tinuloy ko pa din for these reasons:
- i want to have something different for hubby’s 30th birthday
- i don’t want to serve dinner anymore at their residence during the usual inuman
- mcdo is cheaper, compared to the other suggested venues like shakey’s, max’s.
needed to consider the cost because the “inuman” after required a bigger
budget than that of dinner. hehe, mga sunog-baga kasi. =)
- i want my hubby (and us also) to feel the “kid” in us
- the ‘Incredibles’ theme of mcdo is perfect for my hubby’s 30th bday and my
baby boy’s 10th month bday (alias Mr. Incredible and Jacjac =)
- his friends are all OK with the idea
and so, i started planning and shopping for this event.
as blogged previously, last friday (2/3), i went to divisoria to buy additional pooh items. actually, the main reason was to buy incredibles items, hehe. i bought lootbags, drawstring bags, incredibles toy figures, small toys for loots, towels and goodies.
i just dropped all the things at home, pumped milk for a minute, then headed again to mcdo for the reservation. it was already 6pm so i had to hurry up because hubby will be home by 730, and the divi items were still scattered in our room.
buti na lang, hubby texted me kung pwede daw sya mag-6:thirsty sandali with his officemates. sa buong pagsasama namin na nagpaalam syang uminom, ngayon lang ako hindi nagdalawang-isip na payagan sya, hehe. i needed that time kasi to sort out the party items eh. =)
i gave mcdo a list of all the things i want. also explained the instructions and details on the party day. since it’s an adult surprise party, marami akong kaartehang dinagdag at binago. pati nga ung usual games sa mcdo, binago ko and added a lil’ twist. =)
after that, i went to goldilocks-sta. lucia to order and give the picture for the portrait cake.
finally, i was home by 8pm. pero sabi ko kay hubby, kanina pa ako nakauwe. buti na lang hindi na tumawag sa bahay. inayos ko na din ung 7 lootbags (since i only have 6 kids), kaaliw kasi ang dami ko palang nabiling toys and goodies. for sure, matutuwa ang mga bisita naming kids.
the following week was a busy one for me. busy na dito sa office, cramming pa sa party. and since it’s a surprise, i’m basically ALONE in preparing, kaya ako lahat. ewan ko ba pero mcdo na nga lang ung party ko pero busy pa din ako. it just shows na party organizer talaga ako, napaka-OC ko sa parties, hay!
i’ve been calling and texting his friends to remind them of the surprise party. i also asked my bestfriend Jing to coordinate the party on the day, since i’ll be with hubby that time. i gave her guidelines and a detailed list of all the things to do and check.
thursday came, and it was my last day to prepare. went to sm to buy chocolates for the adult winners. been looking for an incredibles shirt for baby boy but can’t find any. since red ang color ni incredibles, pero di bagay kay baby boy ang red dahil umiitim sya, hehe, i looked for a white shirt with red design. buti na lang i saw one at guess, ang cute nya. kaya lang, walang pang-adult na same design. so hanap naman ako para kay hubby. buti na lang ulet, i saw a white shirt sa nike with similar designs as that of baby’s. not exactly the same, pero parehong white na me sulat-sulat na red. so i bought the 2 shirts and was pretty sure that they’ll look good on those. =)
pagdating dito sa office, i sorted out the 10 adult prizes, wrapped the shirt (as baby boy’s gift to papa) and wrapped my gift. emailed the sketch to some of his friends and made last-minute checking.
friday, the actual birthday of hubby. after he took a bath and went back to our room, baby boy handed over his gift to hubby. so he opened and found the 2 shirts for him and baby boy. masaya na sya nun, anything basta nike, happy na asawa ko, hehe. then he headed for work.
ako naman, naka-leave ulet, haha. parang ako ung me bday noh. i went to NSO to get sana the birth certificate of baby boy, kaya lang it was so traffic at wala pang parking. naka-dalawang ikot na ako pero wala pa din kaya umalis na ako. pakuha ko na lang ulet sa messenger ni hubby. punta na ako sa Substance Salon for my scheduled X-tenso. i arrived there at 10am. since galing akong rebond, for sure daw na matagal mag-lock ang gamot sa hair ko, not to mention na kakapalan pa ang buhok ko. i also had my foot spa, manicure at pedicure while watching tv and sitting at one of their lazyboys, hay life! =) i love that salon and i probably won’t go back to Hairbytes anymore. i just had a mcdo delivery for my lunch and merienda. and guess what time ako natapos? 630PM!!! as in! 8.5 hours ako dun! di naman pala masyadong matagal eh, slight lang! waaah! para akong nag-opisina sa loob ng salon noh, at sobrang chaket na ng pwet ko sa pagkakaupo, kahit ba lazyboy pa un, hehe. anyway, okay naman ang hair ko so pwede na. medyo malaki nga lang ang ginastos ko, at cash pa! they don’t accept cards kasi, sayang! =(
after that, sinundo ko na si hubby sa office and had a sumptuous dinner. during dinner, i gave him my gift and he was so happy. he’s been wanting that MP3 before pa, pero di ko lang binibili. so this time, ginawa ko nang MP4 para mas maganda. di na kasi kaya ng budget ko ang cellphone eh, kaya yun na muna. tsaka sabi ko we’ll wait for the 3G phone units na para sulit ang pagbili. haha, excuses! =)
it was a successful day for both of us. success for him kasi he got what he wanted, and successful for me kasi nagawa kong itago sa kanya ung celphone ko at lahat ng messages ng mga friends nya about the party, nyahaha! =)
overall, hubby was happy on how his actual birthday was celebrated. and he can't wait for the inuman celebration the day after. and so he thought...=) |

| happy valentine's day! =) |
last night, hubby surprised me with flowers, how swit! =) but what's sweeter was he bought flowers also for my mom. then he wrote on the card na it was from baby boy. when we arrived home, we let baby boy give the flowers to his lola. and oh, lola was so happy. =) si baby boy daw ang 'ka-balentaym' nya, hehe.
last year was our 1st valentine as married couples. if i remembered right, the two of us had dinner. then when we got home, nagyaya pa ang daddy ko na lumabas kaming apat, his treat. kaya ayun, nag-double date kami, nyahaha.
this time, daddy was inviting us again tonight, his treat daw ulit. eh kaso ang mama ko wants to eat sa President's ba yun, ung Chinese Restaurant sa Banawe na eat-all-you-can. eh ang kaso, for sure na punuan ngayon at ma-traffic, kaya sabi ni mama, sa saturday na lang daw kami lumabas.
si hubby naman, medyo sick today kaya SL sya sa office. told him na kami na lang ang lumabas tonight kasi nga tamad parents ko to go out. eh ang kaso, maghanda na lang daw si mama tonight sa bahay. nyek, so hindi na talaga kami makalabas. owel, atleast tipid, hehe.
speaking of tipid, wala na akong gift kay hubby today. pinagsama-sama ko na kasi ung gift ko eh...happy bday, monthsary at valentine. nyahaha! =) ubos na kasi budget ko nung bday nya noh.
eto pa pala. kanina while going here sa office, me nakasabay akong truck sa daan. naaliw lang ako kasi may nakita akong bunch of flowers sa may dashboard nila. ang swit ni manong driver noh. =) pero op kors, aside from that flowers eh hindi pwedeng mawala ang paa ni pahinante na nakataas din sa dashboard, mwehehe. =) |

| mrt booboo =) |
yesterday, i had another 'productive' lunch-out. i went to shang to get the studio pics of baby boy from pictures & profiles. ok lang naman kasi mall to mall naman ang mrt stations kaya mabilis lang at convenient pa.
pero eto ang kwento...
nung pabalik na ako, syempre nasa shaw (shang) station ako. baba ako ng escalator ng mrt going south. pagbaba ko, konti pa lang ung naghihintay, kasi kakaalis lang yata nung train. so pumwesto ako dun sa me tapat mismo ng escalator. although feeling ko eh sa gitnang train ako mapupunta kasi mahaba pa ung space sa likuran ko eh. pero mas mahaba ung space nung sa harapan ko, and almost all people are going that side. so mag-isa pa din ako at last na din ako sa linya ng mga tao. maya-maya ay dumami na ang mga tao at may sumama na sa pwesto ko, yehey! pero ok lang sana kung mag-isa ako para wala akong kasiksikan, hehe.
so eto na, papadating na ang train. at bumulusok ang rumaragasang train sa harapan ko, kasi nga nasa harap na harap ako ng pila eh. nyahaha, nilagpasan kami ng train! hahaha, di na pala abot ung train dun, kaya naman pala wala nang pumwepwesto dun, nyehehe. so malamang yung mga sumunod sa akin ay mga mrt dummies din na tulad ko. kaya ayun, humabol na lang kami at nakisiksik sa last door ng train. altough di naman malayo talaga, kakatawa lang kasi pag-stop ng train eh wala kaming maaninag na train sa harapan namin, hehe.
mali naman kasi sila eh! hehe, isisi ba talaga sa mrt! pero sana kasi meron silang marking sa floor man lang ng entrace/exit. bakit ung mga mrt sa US at HK, me ganun. kaya pati mga tao dun, nasa ayos at nakapila, first come, first served basis pa. di katulad dito, hala, nakakalat lahat ng tao sa harapan. isang hilera sila lahat. pagdating ng train, magsisiksikan lahat sa pinto. kaya ayun, first singit, first served! hay, pilipino talaga, wala sa ayos minsan. bakit nga kaya ganun noh. kapag naman nasa ibang bansa ang mga pinoy, sumusunod naman sila. pero kung kailan nandito sila sa bansa nila, tsaka nawawala sa ayos minsan. owel, we are all to blame! =(
humaba na kwento ko, at nalihis na yata. gusto ko lang pagtakpan yung katangahan ko, hehe. malay ko ba, eh minsan lang kasi ako mag-mrt eh. sa susunod, di na ako magmamagaling. pipila na lang ako sa likod ng nakapila. sana lang ung pilahan ko ay di rin nagmamagaling na tulad ko, nyahaha! =) |

last sunday while i was sorting out the loots for baby boy's party, hubby & baby boy were watching. so since nasa floor kami nakaupo, pinapatayo ni hubby si baby boy on his own. nakakatuwa kasi he can now stand unsupported, for about 5 seconds or more. medyo firm na din ang tayo nya and can balance his body na. he also made one or two steps towards me, then bigla nang matutumba, nyahaha. ok lang, we don't want to presure him, konting practice pa. besides, he's only 9 months. sana lang he'll be able to walk na talaga when he turns 1. para naman makapag-play na din sya on his own sa party nya. hay, needs a lil' more practice and a lot of patience, haha. =)

ika nga ni ai-ai, this is really is it!!! =)
2 more months to go at 1st bday party na ni baby boy. damang-dama ko na ang pressure and reality is really sinking in. kasi panay na ang withdraw ko sa bank at sunod-sunod na ang gastos eh, nyahaha. hay, dati puro plano pa lang kami, at tuwing pag-uusapan ang gastos, di pa ganun kahirap kasi plano pa nga lang. but now, ang hirap palang hugutin, hehe. but for baby boy, anything and everything for his party, basta kakayanin! gudlak sa amin! =)
i took a leave last friday. jody and i went to divisoria to do another round of party shopping. actually, wala na akong planong bumili ng pooh items for baby's party, coz' i was thinking na i have enough already. told her nga na i should wear blinders eh, kasi mahina ako sa pooh temptation, hehe. kapag may nakita akong maganda na wala pa sa stocks ko, eh nabibili ko talaga. so why did i go there? to buy some items na secret muna ("secret" blog to follow, hehe) and para samahan na din si jody dun sa supplier ko ng bag for souvenirs.
we left early, madali lang naman kasi lrt lang kami. as expected, namili pa din ako ng pooh items. pero konti na lang, pramis! =) i really love going there, parang lahat ng hinahanap mo, pati ung mga di mo hinahanap, eh nandun lahat...at a cheaper price!
then we went to my bag supplier. buti na lang jody liked the bags i ordered, kaya yun na din ang kinuha nya. told her na di naman kami pareho ng bisita eh, hehe. tsaka magkaiba naman ung print namin noh. she got it at a higher price na, although cheap pa din kung titignan mo kasi maganda talaga ung bag. that's one of the advantage of planning early, buti na lang excited ako nun, hehe. imagine, pinagawa ko ung bags na yun as early as august last year, when my baby was barely 4 mos old! then i got the whole stocks by sept. since then, nasa ilalim na yun ng bed namin. buti na lang naka-plastic, kung hindi, nangitim na yun, eh white pa naman, haha. owel, atleast nakatipid ako! =)
natuwa din ako kasi my supplier said na madami na daw nagpunta sa kanila at umorder from my e-group. todo promote kasi ako sa kanila sa n@w e. kaya ngayon humihingi ako ng freebie, hehe, joke lang!
eto pa, when we went there, nakita namin ung kiddie couch na ginawa nila. waaah, di ko alam kung matutuwa ako or maiinis ako na ngayon lang sila nagkaroon nun eh. kasi ang mahal sa kiddie party at jelly bellies nung couch na yun eh, but it's really nice pang-souvenir. but at the end of the day, i still thanked her na di pa sila gumagawa nun last aug when i ordered, kasi i could have spent that much just for the souvenirs alone!
i ended up with 4 plastic bags, and jody had 8 or more. dami nya pinamili, buti na lang me kasama syang taga-buhat. it was a 'success' for both of us, i guess. sa uulitin jody! =)
nung saturday naman, after well-baby check up, we went to my balloon supplier and bought all the balloons we'll be needing for the decor. nagulat ako kasi sobrang laki na ng tinaas ng presyo. whoa, na-over the budget na naman ako sa balloons. owel, what's new...eh sa lahat naman yata eh na-over na ako noh. buti na lang maganda yung mga pooh mylars na nabili ko. atleast now, medyo na-picture ko na yung total 'look' ng clubhouse with all the balloon decors. problema na lang namin ang set-up on the day itself, pahirapan to kasi we'll be the one to set-up the place, of course with our helpers. pero personal touch pa din, kaya ngaragan to sa apil 9. gudlak talaga! =)
after that, we went to shang again to have the monthly pictorials of baby boy with john ong. but this time, it's a lil' different coz we'll be using this for baby boy's party. and so, gastos ulet, hay, walang katapusan! =)
sunday came, it's time to sort out all the prizes and loots i've bought. enjoy ito, kakaaliw. nilatag ko lahat ng bags at lagay-lagay lang ako ng mga goodies. di pa din ako natapos kasi nalimutan ko sa office yung list ng names with age nila. eh by age bracket ang loots ko, kaya di ko alam which is which, kainis noh! so to be continued na naman yan. although hiniwalay ko na naman kung ano ung pang prize at ano ung pang-loots. ang guess what, sa dinami-dami nun, feeling ko eh kulang pa rin pala ko, nyahaha. looks like another last trip to divi ito ah. =) pero for sure, makukumpleto ko rin ito on my friday lunch-outs sa sm makati, glorietta at landmark! =)
i've just realized na sadyang magastos pala ang kiddie party. before kasi, kapag may kiddie parties, kami ang binabayaran, since kami ang organizers. now, it's our time to party and to spend all the bucks we've saved for baby boy! ok lang, sabi nga nila, 1st & 7th lang naman ito eh. sana lang maalala ko ito sa 2nd bday niya, hehe.
i can't wait for my baby boy's party!!! i've always been excited for this! finally, 2 more months at mangyayari na din ang aming pinagpaguran at pinag-ipunan. owel, i just hope that everybody will enjoy the party! and most of all, it's for baby boy, so definitely, it's all worth it! =) |
