| surprise again! |
but this time, not for us!
sobrang uso yata ng surprises ngayon...i just love 'surprises'! =)
my cousin informed us last month of their planned surprise silver anniversary party for their parents, who happened to be my peborit tita-ninang. so i've offered help in any way. and as a gift, we made their tarp banner. =)
march 11, at around 3pm, we were already at immaculate heart of mary church for the 330 mass/renewal of vows. the couple arrived at 330pm and was really surprised. what they were informed was a confirmation of their nephew and uncle jr will stand as ninong. so uncle was wearing long-sleeves polo while my tita may was just wearing a semi-formal blouse and skirt, no fancy details whatsoever! they were so surprised, happy, teary-eyed at the same time inis kasi nga di sila naka-porma, hehe. mas formal pa ang suot naming mga guests kaysa sa couple. owel, that's the essence of surprise. sabi nga ng mama ko, kung nalaman lang daw ni tita ng maaga eh nagtahi na ng sequins sa gown nya yun, haha.
the mass went well naman, kaaliw pa kasi nag-march pa talaga sila down the aisle with matching bouquet pa si tita. i read the 1st reading and responsorial psalm. after that, nag-breastfeed na ako sa likod ng church, hehe. nagwawala na kasi si baby boy eh. at eto pang cute! baby boy was wearing a long-sleeves blue polo, khaki pants and brown shoes. terno sila ng papa nya, pero short-sleeves nga lang kay hubby. pagdating sa church, we were surprised to see yung mga anak nila tita candy (from the other side of their family) were all wearing same thing, all 5 of them. kaaliw kasi para silang isang family, sunod-sunod pa naman yung mga edad nila, all boys with my baby boy as the youngest and my hubby as their father, haha.
the reception follows at albergus, yum-yum as always! especially the crepe, and the meatballs! ang appetizer na ginawang ulam ng asawa ko at ng kapatid ko. take note, hiningi pa nila yung sa kabilang table, haha, kahiya! =)
so there was the usual program, intro, prayers, cake-cutting, dance, and syempre, ang speech! my cousin was asking me if my mom (being their eldest) can give a speech. sabi ko ask her pero sa malamang na aayaw yan, kasi shy sila, hehe. so umayaw nga ang aking moher, as expected. since the other side of their family (father side) has given their speech already, kahiya naman kung wala sa side namin. so nagsesenyasan kami ng cousin ko kung sino sa side namin. so sinenyas ko na "sige, tawagin mo na lang si mama", i'm thinking na once called on stage, wala na din naman syang choice. haha, talk about putting my mom on the spot! =)
kaso ang magaling kong pinsan, ako ba naman ang tinawag! kainis! so tinuturo ko ang mama ko, or ang tita ko, or ang tito ko, anyone but me! eh ang kaso, walang gustong tumayo kaya no choice, nakarma ako, haha!
i didn't prepare anything to say, besides, pamangkin lang ako noh. so i can't say anything about their marriage, which is what the speech should be about. at since kakasulat ko lang ng message sa guestbook nila, eh yun na lang din yung nasabi ko. after the usual congratulations at pagsasabi na sya ang favorite tita ko at ako ang kanyang favorite pamangkin eh napunta ako sa topic na farewell. since that party was also a sort of pamamaalam because they'll be moving to the US next month. just told them na we'll really miss them sobra! sila kasi ang pinaka-close sa family namin eh, at sila ang lagi naming kasama sa lahat ng lakad, lakwatsa, bakasyon, party, dinner, simba, at kung ano-ano pa. like what i've blogged here and here! so unexpectedly eh naiyak ako! haha, naiyak talaga ako, can't help it. so pati ang tita ko ay naiyak na din, pati mom ko at other tita ko, naiyak din sa speech ko. hay, i'm really not good at goodbyes! AT ALL TIMES!!! so after that, we just hugged each other and said our "iloveyou's".
the surprise was really a success! and they were both so happy! pati kami happy din sa sarap ng food, hehe. pati si baby boy, sobrang happy din, he just loves parties and lots of people, mana sa ina! sobrang daldal nya at buhay na buhay the entire party. kaya naman sya pa din ang center of attraction sa buong party. kakatuwa!
