weekend, what’s that? =)
i surely didn’t have a leisurely weekend. i didn’t even feel the weekend. it was busier and more tiring than my ordinary office week days.

why? because i had 2 major parties, on the same day, and at the same time. =) my 2nd client agreed to start the set-up early in the morning, because i had to be in my 2nd party by lunch time.

01/20, saturday. we left the house at 8am and had breakfast at Somethin’ Fishy. need to check the place for the party i’ll be decorating next Sunday for Bea’s 1st bday. i’ve heard of their eat all you can breakfast for only P84 a long time ago, but didn’t have the chance to try it yet. it was on from 12mn to 10am, thanks for the call centers in Eastwood City. =) so we thought that since it was early in the morning, there’ll be not much people around. but when we arrived, daig pa ang gimik night sa dami ng tao. puno yung labas at loob ng SF. the breakfast was good na din, and cheap for P84. sayang lang walang bacon, kasi for sure, malulugi sila kay hubby kung sakaling meron, hehe. our total bill was around P250, with bottomless iced tea included.

my client, Yeyette, dropped by SF also to get the lootbags and prizes i bought for her. akala nga nya may party kasi ang dami ngang tao, hehe.
after that, we dropped by hubby’s office to get the Mickey standees. then bought Belgian chocolate for my choco fountain. then after, i was back in UST for my OB check-up. nope, i’m not pregnant yet (10 months to go pa =) but it was my check-up after my 1st (.). everything was normal, i just have to be back after 6 months for my pap smear. then we told her about our plans of giving birth on 08/08/08 and she said that we need to get pregnant by 1st week of November, so help me God! =)
then went to Gilmore to return the Wireless Lan Card we bought last week. di na pala kailangan yun for Smart Bro eh. we bought it last Saturday together with the ultra powered super bilis hi-tech CPU of hubby, hehe. lahat yata ng kinita namin eh dun lang napunta sa CPU nya, and its accessories. eto pa, i was supposed to buy a laptop for myself sana. kasi naman, di ako makasingit sa PC ni hubby noh. kaya lang, kinapos kami ng budget nung Saturday, huhuhu. =( back to the story, we just exchanged the lan card for a new monitor, kaya dagdag bayad na naman kami, hay!
after that, went home na. kasi from 1-6pm ang schedule ng installation ng Smart Bro sa amin. pag-uwe namin, pinatulog ko muna si lil’ boy dahil napagod sa dami ng nilakad namin.
then i started the works for my party. nilagay ko na lahat ng laman ng backpack sa loob, all 50 of it.

natapos ako around 630pm na sa sobrang dami ng goodies inside, 15 items to be exact. then, drove to my friend to get the other supplies i’ll be needing for my party. pagbalik ko past 7pm, the Smart Bro team were there already. finally, after 2 days, nakabit na ang napaka-bilis na internet namin, hehe. and i can even surf now while talking on the phone, yes! =) kaya kayo dyan, subscribe na din kayo sa Smart Bro! =)
after eating dinner, i was so damn tired already! but still left with so much to do. nagpaka-super woman na naman kasi ako at di ko na pinapunta ang assistant ko. i was thinking na kaya ko na mag-inflate ng 100 ballooons. kaya ko naman talaga, pero hindi ko naisip na madami pa pala akong dapat gawin aside from that. so when i was reaching 90 balloons, di na kinaya ng powers ko, kasi super sakit na ng fingers ko sa pag-buhol ng lobo. kaya i asked help from hubby, na super busy din with his own racket. after that, i prepared everything that we needed to bring for sunday.
around 11pm, nag-BF muna ako at pinatulog si lil’ boy. sa sobrang pagod siguro, nakatulog ako ng di ko alam, hehe. i just woke up around 5am nung sunday with still so much left to do.

01/21, Sunday. around 5am, nagtutunaw na ako ng Belgian chocolate ko for my choco fountain. then made kwenta everything, the expenses and the cash i needed to bring for my suppliers. around 8am, naisakay ko na lahat ng kailangan ko sa van and ready to go, just waiting for my assistants to come.
hubby can’t come with me. umalis kasi ang parents ko, may class reunion sila sa Tarlac. kaya walang maiiwan kay lil’ boy kundi si Yaya, that's why hubby had to stay. hindi kasi namin iniiwan yun sa Yaya lang eh. i wanted to take him with me sa party, kaya lang nakakahiya sa client, kasi malamang sa hindi humiwalay yun sa akin at wala akong magawa.
by 830am, we’re on our way to St. Ignatius. binaba lang namin lahat ng gamit and balloons, instructed my 3 assistants what to do and hurriedly left. drove-through at McDo to buy breakfast for hubby and lil’ boy and food for us also. then back home to fetch my other assistant and got the remaining balloons and other things for my 2nd party.
back to St. Ignatius around 10am. inayos ko na yung styro backdrop and it really looked nice, even Albergus, the caterer, nagandahan dito:

w/ 3D real ring
and these are the floating balloons,

after the set-up, i left 1 of my assistants in St. Ignatius to facilitate the party. then me and my 3 staffs were on our way na to MultiNational Pavilion in Parañaque around 11am. we’re just eating burgers on the way, did’t have time to eat formal lunch na eh.
medyo naligaw pa kami, not familiar with the place kasi eh. finally, we arrived past 11am and started the set-up. super bilis namin natapos lahat, the standees, the prizes, lootbags, choco fountain, etc.

around 2pm, guests started arriving. she also hired me as over-all party coordinator so we took care of the Registration, Name Tags, Stubs for the Photo Magnet, Gift Table and other things needed during the party. i supplied almost ALL of her party requirements, including Bobi the host, Glimmer Tatoo, Mascot, Photographer.

it was a BLAST! 1 guest jokingly said on the phone (while talking to an invited friend) “punta ka na dito sa bday ng anak ni Ruffa G.”, haha, ang bongga kasi eh. =)
sobrang enjoy pero sobrang nakakapagod. i was standing, walking and coordinating the whole time. owel, that’s what i’m being paid for. nakaupo lang yata ako at the end of the party na while eating eh. pero sandali lang din yun kasi after the party, we had to make ligpit everything, the gifts, the standees and all the balloons. good thing halos naubos lahat ng balloons kasi unahan sa pag-uwe ang mga guests. aside from coordinating this party pala, i had to call my assistant in St. Ignatius once in a while to ask how the party is doing. so i really coordinated 2 parties at the same time! =)
we we’re done with everything past 6pm na. and so, we’re on our way home na. kaso minalas yata kami dahil pagpasok namin sa Fort Bonifacio, biglang nanibago ko sa driving and felling ko flat ang tires. so tinabi ko muna and went down, ayun, bagsak nga yung gulong ko sa rear driver side. hay!
the problem: for 12 years that i’ve been driving, i never had the problem of changing tires. and so i was clueless. i was with my guy assistant who didn’t know as well and my 2 girl assistants who definitely had no idea. so i called my hubby and daddy for help. they instructed me where to get the tools needed. good thing it was complete. but after that, what’s next? hehe.
God is so good because after 15 minutes, 2 soldiers were on our way. so i asked for help to which they gladly obliged. 1 soldier was manning the traffic, while the other one was doing the dirty works, with my assistant. while i was holding the flash light, to the extent na nakaluhod na ako at nakatuwad sa daan just to give them light sa ilalim, haha. it was reallllly tiring, ang sakit ng tuhod and legs ko!
eto ngayon ang highlight ng story, while he was changing tires, i was thinking kung magkano ibibigay ko as my way of thanks. so tipong i set an amount in my mind, pero habang naghihirap sya eh tumataas ng tumataas yung presyo ko, hehe. tipong pagtanggal ng flat tire, pagkuha ng reserved tire at paglagay at pag-lock ulit ng new tire. halos sa bawat pawis na tumatagaktak kay manong sundalo ay naaawa ako at dumadagdag ang metro ko for him. so when everything was ok, i got money from my bag, yung total amount ng na-metro ko sa kanya. aba, si Manong sundalo, paalis na. so hinabol ko talaga at inaabot yung pera while saying my many thanks. ayaw talaga nya, wag na daw, ok lang daw yun. sobra! sobrang dakila nya! to think na ang tagal at ang hirap ng ginaw nya ha. meron pa palang mga natitirang mababait sa mundo, hehe. please help me pray for his good karma! =)
and so we’re back on the road. sinundo ko muna yung assistant ko sa St. Ignatius, then went home around 8pm na. that’s the only time i ate dinner.
over all, it was still a happy day, sans the flat tire. it was tiring, but happy. especially when i saw how happy my client Mek was when we were leaving. she was all tired but oh so happy with the party. while Yeyette texted me this when i asked about her party: “The party was so fun. We liked Simond and his antics. The backdrop is beautiful and so were the baloons. The lootbags plastic bag lang were too small for d items so we had to transfer them to a bigger bag. Your “assistant” was very helpful. Thanks again. Next time again”. wow, super thanks for that comment. hehe, medyo sumablay lang sa lootbag. kasi i bought it in Divi, the regular lootbag, biggest na yun actually. ang problem, nagpapdagdag sya ng balls sa lootbag items nya. kaya kapag pinasok mo pa yung balls sa loob, medyo masikip na nga yung bag. =)
i’m so happy organizing big parties such as these. naubos din ang mga calling cards namin, so i just hope more bookings to come.
downside lang, i’m missing my lil’ boy so much! weekends kasi are usually spent with him 24/7 eh, pero kapag may events, syempre, hindi pwede. lalo ko pa syang nami-miss kasi puro kids ang kasama ko sa event, kaya naaalala ko sya lagi. anyway, we always make it up to him naman whenever we’re free eh. and we almays make it a point na isama sya sa LAHAT ng lakad na pwede syang isama, or if not naman, dapat may isa sa amin ni hubby na maiiwan sa kanya.
owel, that’s life. you need to sacrifice some things in order to live. as long as we are happy with what we are doing, that’s what really matters. and of course, as long as we are one happy family! thank God for everyhting! =)
